History
The Lakeshore Model Railroaders’ Association (L.M.R.A.) was founded in 1954 and is located in southern Etobicoke (The south west corner of Toronto) and have been in our current location on Lake Shore Boulevard West (near 31st Street) since 2000.
After moving to our current home in 2000 we began construction of an ambitious 25 x 50 foot HO Scale layout with a large center island and around the wall oval. After a decade of planning and work construction is well advanced, with all of the benchwork built, 95% of the track laid and wired, and a good portion of scenery in various stages of completion. We do not follow, nor run a strict prototypic era or type of layout, though the emphasis is on the steam to diesel transition period in Canada. For more information on the layout visit here: Layout
We usually meet once a week, between approximately 7 pm and 11 pm. We have 24/7 access to the building and often come down at other times to work on the layout, personal projects, or just run trains.
Mississauga Train Market
The club has been running the successfull spring and fall L.M.R.A Train Markets for decades. At approximately 12,000 feet it is one of the largest such events in Canada. Every show we have 100+ tables worth of vendor displays. From new to used; from just released to virtually antique; from models to structures to scenery supplies to memorabilia; from good buys to great buys, chances are we have something to interest any model rail enthusiast.
Next show: November 24th 2024.
10:00-2:30
Please check this website for updates regarding schedule changes.
The show is located at John Paul II Polish Cultural Centre at
4300 Cawthra Road in Mississauga (Just north of Brunhamthorpe)

Join Us!
Our small group of dedicated members is always on the look out for new members. So if you have ever wanted to use your skills or learn new ones working on a large club layout from the ground up, well this may be your opportunity. Bench work, wiring, track and all manner of scenery, on two levels: you name it; we have to do it all!
Why join a club? Not everyone has the space/time/resources/skills to build their own layout. Being part of our club allows you to actively participate in the hobby on a large scale with minor investment of time and resources. Even if you have your own layout belonging to a club allows you to add value to your hobby by giving you the option to enjoy the benefits of a second layout as well as the social interaction of spending an evening a week with people with like minded interests.
Our club is very laid back - we have no “rivet counters” or “put down artists” and do not seek any! We do not have a million rules and regulations and our monthly dues are very reasonable. We do ask that you be at least 18 years old.
We believe model railroading can be fun if you share, support and encourage others. If you want to find out more the best way is to contact us, and arrange to drop by on a club night and we'll introduce ourselves, give you a tour of the layout in progress and answer any questions you might have.
